I have trouble with hands sometimes, so I'll usually get a mirror and model my own hand when I'm trying to draw a difficult pose. It really helps. :3
Have you tried getting other people to model for you? Or even just doing quick sketches (like, really quick) of people that happen to be sitting or standing nearby? I used to get my friends to sit for me -- sometimes without realizing that I was drawing them until they'd start to move and I'd have to say "Wait! Hold still!" XD
A potluck party sounds fun... but I am clear across the country from you. I don't think I could drive from Texas to Washington, even if I started right now, and get there by Thursday. XD But thanks for the invite! Have a great time! ^___^

How has your summer been going?
Yeah, it would've been awesome if I could've come... but oh my gosh, that would've been a long drive! XD I've always wanted to see Washington, though. One of my friends moved to Seattle a few years ago, and he says it's a very pretty state. :3
My summer has been busy, busy, busy! (Hence my late reply. XD) My dad had surgery in June, so the finances have been a little tight (I was going to visit my relatives in Dallas, but I had to cancel the trip because I couldn't afford gas and hotel costs)... but my mom and I have been doing a bunch of DIY projects around the house, like tearing down old wallpaper and stripping ugly paint. My bathroom cabinets had this horrible faux finish painted on them, and it was peeling off (which means I couldn't just paint over it because the paint wouldn't stick), so I've stripped most of the old paint off (I think there were three or four layers on there) and I'm going to repaint them next week. :3

My summer went by pretty quick and well yeah i had fun but was really busy and now school has started again and I have my homework overloaded IB classes but I have been well!
How is school for you?
We didn't finish all of the painting that I wanted to get done (including my bathroom), but I did completely redo the front hallway. I got to play with textured sand and the foyer looks all fancy now. It was pretty cool. We'll finish the rest eventually.
Yikes, homework overload is never fun! I'm glad that you're doing all right, though.
I am actually taking the semester off, so I don't have any classes to worry about right now... which is fortunate, because my son came down with pneumonia and his leukemia came back... so we have been in the hospital since September 5th, and I have no idea when we'll be able to go home. We were in ICU for three weeks before they moved us to a regular room. :/
